Looks Like Christmas

Winter came and stung us all in the rear end on Saturday with a nasty snow, rain and ice storm.  Marge was smitten with snow last year when it first started (I believe she had never seen it before then), but was less enthusiastic about it this year, probably because it was so sloppy and wet.

She stuck to the clearest side of the grass for her potty break - certainly different from what she did during last season's first snow, when she tried to eat it all.

Our Christmas tree was brought home yesterday.  Marge was very interested in all the activity and watched with great focus as my dad seated it in its stand.  She sniffed all the boxes full of decorations and ornaments as they were brought down from the attic.

Since our house finally looks Christmasy, I decided today was time for a Marge photo shoot by the tree!

Stumpy likes the first snow of the year, for about 3 minutes. she doesn't mind being stuck in dirtville during the winter.

Marge would make an adorable reindeer...she doesn't look thrilled, though!

Awww, Marge looks cute in her antlers.

Like Marge, my dogs always walk right next to the house when it is really icy & slippery outside. Aren't they smart to know where to go?

Wow Marge! Those are some ginormous antlers you have there. You could pass for a reindeer! Maybe Santa Paws needs help. Oh but you don't like snow so nevermind. BOL

Psst... we don't like it either.

Marge, I love your antlers. Very, Very cute!

Wow, great Marge photo shoot! She doesn't even look like she minds very much. She's such a beautiful dog. My husband was looking over my shoulder the other day and was immediately smitten with her, oohing and aahing over her muscular beauty.

I'm laughing over Marge peeing on the only patch of green grass. When we descend to town where there's much less snow than at home, K seeks out the tiniest patch of snow to pee. I guess that our dogs all have their habits!

Ohh... Marge. Are you OK? I mean ... antlers? I'd just HAVE to rip those up. I'm not saying that's what YOU should do ... but ... antlers? You're a VERY good sport!
We're under a winter storm warning - perhaps as much as a foot of snow. Should be great!

Oh, my - those certainly are some BIG antlers you have there, Marge!! How tolerant of you to let mom snap photos of you in such a compromised state!!

Love the pics of marge by the tree! And her antlers, how cute!

OK, now, Marge, I understand that you have some issues that you are working on with your mom, so I am SHOCKED that you would allow such humiliation as posing with those ginormous antlers.

Do you have a secret desire to be a model?

Very cute pictures! Marge looks very festive. We've had a little snow here - just a few inches, but all the dogs have been wild with the snow-crazies.

Marge looks so nice in her antlers! I don't like snow either--wet and yucky, and I'm afraid I'll get lost in it if there is too much.

Kathy Mocharnuk December 8, 2009 at 12:46 PM

I think the shot of Marge being so careful to go as close to the fence and out of the snow was so cute. What a good Marge to let you take the Christmas photo with the ears on, LOL, such a good girl!

We don't understand? Why wouldn't woo like snow? grins

Sam December 8, 2009 at 1:56 PM

Oh, Marge DOES like snow. She just likes the floofy fun kind, not the wet, slushy kind.

So that's where the snow is coming from - you guys! Jesse thanks you.

Poor Marge. Wish the snow were fluffier for her. The stuff we're getting is floofy but blowing around like a son!

You make a darling Reindeer Marge.

Thanks for the laugh. I sorely needed it. I love Marge in her antlers.

Very cute :) God bless you for rescuing your pup!

Sue December 8, 2009 at 9:28 PM

My guys are all still wishing for snow. All we have is wind and freezing rain. Not fun!

I always feel sorry for the dogs at this time of year when we all try to dress them up for pictures. They usually look like they hate it.

Bijou December 8, 2009 at 9:29 PM

Dear Marge, you can have all the floofy snow and the slushy stuff too. We will box it up and send you some cause we got plenty! I only like it when it's just deep enough for me to leave little paw prints. I do NOT like the snow when it gets belly deep. And on top of that it's gotten really really cold! I mean like not even 20 degrees!!

Bijou
