Day 937

That's how many days it's been since I brought Marge home.

The anniversary of this blog's inception, however, is much simpler - two whole years.

Can you believe it?  What started out as a training journal simply for my own personal use has become something much more... a place for me to connect with people all over the world, a place for me to jot down some of my innermost thoughts, a place for me to share my love of dog training, dog behavior, dog sports, dog ownership, dog love.

The main character's qualities have changed a bit, too.  I said it last year and I'll say it again: "Fear, which used to consume everything that we did, now is just one theme in a great book of adventures."

It's still there, like the familiar antagonist that keeps popping up every once in a while in a long novel, but we'd like to think we've got a better handle on it now.  I hope that you've learned and continue to learn from the experiences, successes, and failures that we've had.  I love sharing what we do with people who care about dogs just as much as I do.

Who knows what the next year will bring?  Guess we'll have to just wait and see. :) Thank you for helping make MargeBlog so special.

(P.S. - We're slowly catching back up to visit you all - it's been a long week battling this cold.  Hang in there, and we'll stop by soon to see what you've all been up to!)

Oh how Marge has grown in so many ways, due to your wonderful help in creating such a great partnership! (We're not doing too wonderfully in our resolutions, but we love seeing Marge shine as she faces new obstacles!) Congrats on two years of writing and recording and connecting with so many wonderful pals!

OK, two years is not that long to account for all that you and Marge have accomplished, WOW, and so hard to believe with your first dog that you have brought Marge this far in that short time, and she has blossomed so wonderfully and I bet you have learned so much-you guys are just such an inspiration to all of us to just keep going and believe all things are possible, CONGRATS both of you on two very amazing years.----Kathy

It is amazing how much both of you have accomplished in two years. I'm sure it was a difficult journey, but in the end, isn't it just make you feel so good?
Looking forward to reading about more of your adventures in the coming years to come!

We haven't known you for that whole time, but we have really enjoyed your blog. In the short time we have been reading, we have seen so many positive changes in Marge. We can only imagine that the best is yet to come.

Congratulations! I started mine for the exact same reason, and never intended to have anyone read it, let alone people who also love dogs. I guess I didn't realize there were so many dog blogs out there; I always thought blogs were for snotty Starbucks people complaining about too much froth in their cappuccino. It was a nice treat seeing how wrong I was!

Thanks so much for your comment. I might be sending you a ranting/bitching email soon. I'm definitely entering Afghan, it's just too close not to! I hope Layla and I can see you and Marge there.

Happy, happy Blogoversary, Sam and Marge! Thank you ever so much for taking us on your journey with you. I always learn something from all of your posties, and me and my mom can SO relate to so much of what you write.

I like this part the best: "Fear, which used to consume everything that we did, now is just one theme in a great book of adventures." That's pretty much exactly how me and mom feel, too.

Congratulations and here's to many more blogoversaries!

"Fear, which used to consume everything that we did, now is just one theme in a great book of adventures."

Couldn't have said it better. I am so glad you have gotten to this place. You and Marge are a real team now, and it shows.

Happy anniversary! I hope you feel better soon!

Congrats on two years, and here's to many more. I always enjoy seeing MargeBlog pop up on my reader and look forward to hearing what adventures you two have been up to.

KB January 21, 2011 at 9:31 PM

Funny, you and I started our blogs at almost the same time. My two year anniversary was on Jan 2. And, I just estimated that it's been just about 2600 days since K arrived in our pack. Wow... that's a lot of days!

I've enjoyed your blog and watching you and Marge grow and evolve. You're right - I hadn't really realized that the topic of fear has become less consuming until you pointed it out. Now, we celebrate Marge's victories in formal events and everyday life much more often.

What great progress you two have made and it seems to have been tons of fun for both of you.

Sue January 21, 2011 at 10:56 PM

Congrats, it's been fun watching you both grow.

ForPetsSake January 21, 2011 at 11:37 PM

That change is inspiring - we work everyday with Nyxie and she's progressing, too. It is a slow road, though, as you know...
The connections made here are amazing. That was my biggest happy surprise.

katie, Maizey and Magnus January 21, 2011 at 11:40 PM

What a very cool post! I haven't been reading for that long, but I appreciate your viewpoint. I love reading that fear is not the main character anymore. I see (I hope) that happening with Maizey and would love to report the same thing. I enjoy always enjoy reading!

I have only been following your blog since the summer, but have gained a lot of info from you on fearfulness in dogs, it has helped with Kirby and given me encouragement. Thank you!
