Interspecies Relationships

We don't officially participate in Wordless Wednesday, but very few words are needed to describe this series of photos.

That dumb dog.

- Play?

-Plaaay?

-Plaaaaaaaaaaay?!?!?

NO, dog! NO!!!!!!!

Sigh. They operate on the same wavelength sometimes, I swear. Tonight was just not one of those times.

See?

(And if you think this was bad, you should have seen her last night at agility class. Miss I'm-picky-about-my-friends wanted to smoosh her favorite Portuguese Water friend with play bows and paw smacks, not to mention the flirting she did with her Vizsla lover boy and the laps she wanted to run with her Lhasa classmate. Not that I'm complaining!)

That picture of her standing on her hind legs is classic, I love it! It's so fun watching animals interact with each other :)

We have a dog/cat thing at our house too, its Stella who wants to play and Ali Z who wants her to play dead, , ,forever.

We just loved those pictures - as you say no words needed!
Of course we are very lazy with words and like pictures instead - mum says it is something to do with our learning style!!!

Can't blame Marge for trying to liven things up! What a silly girl she is.

Chris and Ricky April 22, 2010 at 7:14 AM

Very funny! Cats never do anything that they don't want to do!

Marge wanted to play with several dogs at class last night? That is so awesome!

Dog_geek April 22, 2010 at 8:55 AM

Too funny! That looks a lot like the daily interaction between little B and our cat Tag, except instead of "play" I think B is saying, "iloveyouiloveyouiloveyouiloveyouiloveyou" To which Tag usually replies, "Gah!" Oddly, B rarely bothers our other cat, Paco.

Cyndi and Stumpy April 22, 2010 at 9:29 AM

Ha! Mareg is trying so hard to convince and the cat is soooooooooo unimpressed! Too funny!

Whiskers on Wednesday and Dogs on Thursday would love those too. Great photos!

Wow, what's happened to Marge? She took her extra-special friendly pills!

I love those photos - what a great pair!

So funny how kitteh's ears flattened in that last "no" picture!

Golden Samantha April 22, 2010 at 12:16 PM

Love this post so much (well... love em all!)! Classic play poses to please kitty! Poor Marge, yet that last pic must have given her some pleasure!

These pictures made my mom laugh - A LOT! I wish my kittehs would play with me, too, but they just gives me sour looks and roll their eyes. Sigh.

Those were hilarious! My cats totally understand your cat's pain. lol

wonderful pictures. they tell the story without words.

thats the reason we Dawgs kind of scoff at cats..they think they are superior and label us dim-wits.

little do they know,..Dawgs Rule!

Very cute! It's funny how sometimes they act like they've never seen each other before, and then 10 minutes later are asleep together.

If you do decide to enter the Jamesburg shows, I'll have a canopy by then. If you don't have one, you're more than welcome to share mine. I know Marge is picky about her friends and I'd hate to have her stressed if she doesn't like Layla, but you're welcome to use it if you'd like.

I haven't made a set decision but I've been looking at Texsport brand and they seem good. They call them "arbors" instead of canopies, but they got good reviews. I first saw them on the SportsAuthority site, but Amazon has the same ones cheaper with free shipping.

I was first looking at the EZ up ones that kind of look like an accordian so a single person can set it up, but everyone I've talked to (and reviews online) all say that they're too flimsy and the legs bend in the wind. I was hoping for one I could set up myself because more often than not I'll probably be going myself, but I'd be worse off if the thing blew away or collapsed!
So it really does seem that it's best to invest in a quality one.

I love the Freehold site because it's where Layla's conformation debut was, but I actually like the Jamesburg site much better. It's such a pretty park, I think you and Marge will love it!

Way to keep 'em guessing, Marge! Ha roo roo roo!
I don't know why your kit-cat friend wouldn't play with you, though. I'd LOVE to!
Play bows!

Ha! That last shot of Marge on her hind legs is just too, too funny.

Muttsandaklutz April 23, 2010 at 10:53 PM

OMG, I'm seriously laughing out loud at that series of photos!! Perfect captions for them, too.

Kathy Mocharnuk April 24, 2010 at 10:16 AM

wow, that is great, those are the most awesome pictures, that is so cool to see Marge so carefree and happy. What great friends those two look like. So Marge has a PWD as a friend huh? Marge is comfortable with herself so she says she does not have to have tons of friends, she can be picky and go for quality over quantity. Good for you Marge.
