Beachgoers

As may of you know, we frequent the beach in the fall and winter, when no one is around and the sand is firm under our feet.  Yesterday, we tried out a new beach just a few minutes from my house - and had a blast!

It was located on a piece of the Island that sort of "juts out" from the rest - which led to pretty rough seas and some crazy wind!  Look at all the crazy things Marge's ears did.

She ran around like a crazy gal, the wind tickling her tail, the sand moist under her feet.

We walked out, in to the wind, for about 30 minutes.  We paused at this spot, with the boats floating in the marina behind us, before heading back the way we came.  Our walk was a fast-paced one hour total.

On the way back, we detoured along a sandy beach trail, Marge humoring me by posing among the golden grass.

Over the summer, I wouldn't even THINK of bringing her somewhere new.  I'm so happy it's getting cold, and Marge's world is expanding!  Do you do anything exciting in the winter?

Thanks for finding us at the Blog Hop! Yes, Cosmo does do agility. We've been competing for a while, still go to trials but not quite as many.

I write about agility sometimes... we still have big time contact issues at trials. Maybe someday we'll work that out!

I love these photos! Marge is so happy at the beach. You guys are so lucky to have that -- and year round too!

For us, the excitement winter brings is the excitement of having excited dogs at agility -- the cold weather really brings out the funnest in them!

What a great day for both of you! Mom says the beach is a great place to go to relax, guess it works for pups too. Too bad we aren't anywhere near a beach:(

We are really hoping for snow so we can be real snow dogs.

I love that last picture!

We're planning on doing some winter hikes, as long as we don't have a winter of blizzards or extreme cold. There are some beautiful spots near us in the winter months.

Yay Marge! What a fun time at the beach :) I haven't explored too much beach time, except at lakes where I can't swim off. We're gearing up for SNOW TIME! And, just started my agility class..practicing Target. Fun!

Oh, I'm so very much glad you had fun! The wind kind of skeers me pretty good but I like the fun tricks it played with Marge's ears. And that last picture is just GORGEOUS!

I'm ready for it to snow! We have only had one teeny tiny snow all year. Even though I have a short coat, I like to go out and run around in it and snuffle it with my nose. It's fun!

I take advantage of cold days too. I love knowing I will probably have the park, trail, etc. all to myself.

Ha ROO! I love your crazy ears, Marge!!! And that pic of you in the grass is really great!
Once we have a few hard freezes, we'll get to go to places Mom marks as "off limits" during the warm season. Nothing to do with people, just with bugs!
